The Musical Box

Drumming this morning, a challenging but fun session. Dashed home straight afterwards, no time to stay for coffee this week.

Packed the last few things in to my rucksack, before MrM and I left for a trip to York, by public transport. Bus and train on time, and we arrived in time to settle into our hotel before walking to the Masons Arms to join Rena and Frank for an early pre-gig meal. Lots to catch up on - it's almost a year since we last met! Then on to the Barbican for the gig by The Musical Box, a Quebec-based Genesis tribute band. Not just any old tribute band - they aim to exactly re-create the experience of a live Genesis concert, including the use of vintage instruments, and costumes. Absolutely brilliant! We've all seen them before, and would happily go again. Denis Gagné, who sings/performs the part of Peter Gabriel, has the most amazing voice.

Sad to say goodbye to Frank and Rena afterwards, as we headed back to our different hotels. We're planning to meet up with them again in September for another gig - watch this space!
