Woodland Mix

Today’s walk was just 8km and even that felt a bit much. Hey ho, this phase will pass. Yoga this evening helped free everything up again; including my mind. This is fortunate as I went in upset and angry and came out calm enough to decide to let it go.

What surprised me on this walk was the range of flowers I found in the woodland alongside the River Beane, one of Hertfordshire’s rare chalk bed streams. We are seeing things flowering earlier than usual (a month early in the case of magnolia stellata blipped yesterday), so it’s odd then to still be seeing snowdrops and celandines as well. I think I like the goat willow best so I’ve put it in the centre but the violets of both colours are pretty too.
