The next festival

A disappointing day weatherwise.  The person who said 'good weather till the end of the month' was wrong!  It rained as Olivia and I walked up to 163 on our 'secret mission' and rained again mid afternoon till early evening.

The secret mission was to get Mei Mei's birthday present from Olivia.  Quite a bit of time in Toys 'r Us which eventually led to a present being bought.  Then we went for brunch at Ra.Ft followed by some more shopping at Quora.

The foyer at 163 has moved on to the next Festival. So far I've seen Christmas, Chinese New Year and now Eid, which isn't until around 9 April but Ramadan starts on Monday so decorations and food are the order of the day from now till the end of the Eid (Hari Raya Aidilfitri) celebrations in mid April.

By the time we got back Wen Hui and Amelia were back from orientation day at school.  Standard 1 6 classes of 50 and 6 years in the school, 1800 pupils, I think.  Explains why serried ranks, workbooks and reading stuff off the board are the order of the day.  With 40 minute classes that means less than a minute per kid.

It was hot and humid again but the girls didn't want to swim so I did, until the rain returned.  The new pool loungers, wrapped in plastic, are piled up in one of the cabins. There was also some discussion about tomorrow.  Sunway Lagoon is now off the agenda as it takes a week for annual tickets to come through.  Can't say I'm that disappointed and I don't think Wen was that keen either.  Maybe next year. Plus #1 son has a developed a weird rash.  Quick visit to the Klinik and a list of things it isn't but pills and cream anyway.

Came home to change for tonight and then we all went to Solaris for Korean BBQ at Sae Ma Eul. Owing to weather and the effect on Grab #2 son was slightly late.  I like a Korean BBQ and we ate loads! Luckily the food stopped my exhaustion from getting in the way.

It was well after 9 by the time we got back and I was in bed before 10.
