Celebratory

A fairly early start to get up to Tain. We treated ourselves to our standard favourite stop off at the moment, namely a bacon roll and a coffee at the North Gateway cafe just as one drops down to Inverness.

I had a few bits and pieces and a teams supervision to do in the afternoon.

K had invited us out to her lovely house on the peninsula for supper, which was a delicious Persian feast and an amazing chocolate roulade for desert. I gave C from the B&B and Aie a lift, and we met also with C from Inver and L, the dipper, as well as M, who had managed to get back from Inverness in what she described as a comedy hire car. There was just enough light in the sky to get the sense that K and family just live on the 'crest' of the hill with the sea visible on both sides. There was much chat about lots of nonsense, as well as a fair bit of planning of future adventures including a trip on Sunday. It was an appropriate celebration for #IWD even though coming up here meant I missed also sorts of good things around the university.

We also spent some time looking at L's yearbook, which K put together and gave her a month or so ago. It's gorgeous and a great memory of a magical achievement by L. As ever, great to be back in the north.
