The life and death of trees

Walking on the common with Fika. I was observing the number of fallen trees. Some fallen ripping their roots from the sodden ground. Others having been felled due to disease or to encourage the growth of new saplings. I was interested in the shapes they formed and the moss growing on their rotting branches. The extra is of a tree fallen across a river. It lies there catching loose twigs and branches being swept along by the flood fueled river.
My study of trees continues.
Gratefuls:
Seeing beauty in the shapes of trees.
Observing new life as buds appear.
Fikas inquisitiveness.
