Happy Moments

Mount Fuji

Roseberry Topping. A local landmark hereabouts and at 1049 feet it was once thought to be the highest hill on the NYMoors, but apparently there’s 15 other hills higher!

Anyway, it was never planned to be my blip today. I met son from the train last night and although he was pretty tired, we had a lovely evening catching up. But he soon set to his study work this morning, writing his assignment which has first draft due on Monday for his ‘Digital and Technology Specialist’ masters degree.

He’s been pretty much holed up in the study all day, so after morning dog walk through the woods (blip bottom right) we took the chance to get out for a few hours and went to Middlesbrough to find the Arcadia garden centre. It’s part of the national British Garden Centre chain, but much bigger than the one we were used to back in Bedfordshire.

They have an in-store Pavers shoe shop and Callum found a comfortable extra wide pair of shoes in the sale, which pleased him no end as he is difficult to say the least getting good fitting shoes for his flat feet!

We had a bite to eat. Food was ok, but the wait to order was less than zippy. When I got back to the table Callum asked if I’d been in the kitchen to make up the sandwiches myself. However it did arrive quite quickly thankfully.

After a short walk around and look at some of the landscaping materials available up here, we headed back home via a different direction where I got him to pull into a lay-by to allow me to take a quick shot of Roseberry Topping far in the distance but with some lovely sunlight shining on it through a very hazy day.

A lady pulled in behind us and climbed on the door sill - copying me - and shouted across "looks like Mount Fuji doesn’t it"

The hellebore was outside the restaurant, and was so pretty it deserved a place in the collage.

Back now to throw some dinner together, although as I type son is still tapping away in the study!
