A time for everything

Friday
Roger got home from work fairly early this afternoon and at the time it was a beautiful sunny afternoon. I hadn't got much exercise in this week, so I suggested we went out biking on the Little Miami trail. I took this shot where I turned around to head back to the car (Roger had gone on a little further), and as you can see from the shadows on the trail it was still sunny at this point. Within 20-30 minutes however it was quite a different picture. The clouds had gathered and were looking quite threatening, and the wind suddenly picked up and became really strong and gusty, bringing debris, twigs and leaf clusters down from the trees. We still had about another 3-4 miles to go and I was afraid we were going to be caught in quite a storm, but fortunately as we continued to head south, it eventually began to calm down and we made it back to the car in the dry, and in fact it's still dry now back at home, though another wind squall came through here about five minutes ago. It seems from the forecast this is going to be the pattern for most of the next week - mainly sunny and dry during the first part of the day with a chance of a pop-up thunder shower in the late afternoon or evening.
