Nicky and her Nikon

Fungi

After the rain yesterday, today was grey and misty. I am really struggling to find something interesting to photograph at the moment, so here we have a worm's eye view of fungi on a fallen birch trunk.

I made soup this morning and went grocery shopping. Inca left after lunch, back to Cambridge by train and she hopefully can work on the train on her journey home. Her exams finish on Thursday so she is back here again this weekend which will be lovely.

We have friends coming for lunch on Sunday, so I have decided to serve salmon and for the first time I ordered a side of salmon from a fishmonger in Scotland - online fish orders are common here and the fish is kept fresh and delivered appropriately packed. However, there is a major problem on Sunday as for the first time since it was built, a very busy section of the M25, J10 to J11,  is being closed as they need to blow up a bridge, all part of the new M25/A3 junction 10 that is being built. It will cause horrific traffic in the surrounding areas, and for people trying to get to Heathrow or Gatwick will be very difficult. We live near J10 so the traffic around us will be unbelievable, not possible to imagine it will be worse than Surrey traffic already is but we wait in trepidation. It will affect our friends travelling to our house which is not great.

Tonight at camera club we have a major coup in that we have the famous sports photographer Mark Pain coming to talk to us. I am sure you will recognise his world famous photo when Tiger Woods hit his ball in error directly at his camera (breaking Mark's lens). I am very much looking forward to hearing his talk tonight.

And poor Kate - her Photoshop skills, or lack of them, have been splashed all over the press today. It seems the photo agencies did not like her inexpert editing - haha, us photographers know all about poor editing.
