Was It a Race?

The boat on the left had just turned round in front of Joppa Rocks and was heading back towards Musselburgh where they had both come from. The boat on the right still had a little way to go to reach the turning point. Maybe they caught up on the homeward leg. Or perhaps they weren't even racing and just on the same course out and back.
