A quiet space.

I had a volunteering shift at the Lighthouse today. I love the interactions I have with a wide range of guests and fellow volunteers. From discussing the limits of electric cars to listening to the heart break of a man who lost both parents in his teens. From carrying bags of baby supplies for a young mum to hearing about an elderly mans downward spiral into alcoholism and worrying about a young woman who has not turned up today and had been struggling with her mental health last week. The random life stories and the safe space provided by this old ramshackle building that is due for demolition.
At the end of the shift i am sitting in the now empty ground floor. I take a photo as I sit and reflect and offer up a prayer to a God who knows what to do even when everything feels a bit overwhelming.
Gratefuls:
For the people who come to the Lighthouse.
For a place of calm.
For the reassurance of prayerful reflection.
