..endeavour to persevere

Old Customs House

Dentist today, good, no problems - 5 mins in the chair and I think she went around twice with the spiky poking tool to fill the time.
 - that'll be £65..

I went for a walk around Cockermouth to numb the pain. Lovely old town, not sure how it survives as well as it does with the town going underwater every few years.
Which brings me to my blip.  The Old Courthouse, 194 years old. Grade 2.
The River Cocker took it's toll in October 2023. The building is privately owned apparently without insurance.
No matter, the council sprung into action, they have closed roads, re-opened them, had meetings, issued notices and drafted in Historic England. On the 19th Jan they gave the owner 1 week to commence repairs or else they would take charge and begin repairs (which they had specified and issued notices about in meetings).
Here we are on 12th March and we can see they have blurred into action.

I've tagged for this week's Derelict Challenge, although it might be better suited to the swept away challenge.
