Ribbing

The day has not been wasted: I've learned that a glume is a chaffy bract. Such is the sort of thing that happens when you're playing Upwords.

Bit of an emergency blip: a close-up of knitting. It's getting harder and harder to find shops that stock 4-ply yarn. Most have Double Knit, Chunky, Aran, Quick Knit, and so on.  Can't remember the name of all the thick yarns, but they make DK look relatively dainty. Finished the back of a jumper for the young master and have almost finished the welt of the front. Once you get used to knitting on fine needles it's satisfying.
