Clun Castle (remains of)

Another grey day. Windy but dry and surprisingly mild.

Another Shropshire castle, Clun is an intriguing ruin. Set in the village of Clun, it has it's origins in the Norman invasion and played a big part in the 'disputes' with Marcher lords and Welsh trouble makers.

It was converted into a hunting lodge in the 14th century and eventually fell into disrepair until its 'restoration' in the 1890s.

This evening we were invited to a talk and slide show concering the cultural and economical changes in China, since 1979.

Very interesting, and there was tea and cake.

Another very nice day...
