Archeology - and soup

There was a well attended meeting in the Glendaruel Hall this evening  to hear two archeologists  from  Archaeology Scotland who had  led a community supported  excavation in the community owned Stronafian Forest last year.

The site had been identified by a local member of the group and is very close to Auchatagen which was extensively explored in the late 1960s and through the 1970s.

The normal  local Wednesday "warm hub" lunch was moved to the evening so a well fed time was had by all - and a very informative one too.  Further excavation may well take place this year given the likelihood that what is emerging is a rare neolithic settlement site.
