One photographer’s record of this iconic tree, Sycamore Gap.

For those not familiar with the story this tree stood alongside Hadrians Wall in Northumberland. On the 28th September it was cut down in an act of vandalism. It was one of the most photographed tree in the UK and its loss has caused much sadness. The National Trust have several possible replacements plants, some grown from seed and some from grafted cuttings from the original tree.
