Lanercost Priory

It seems to have been a week of church visits.  Lanercost is near Brampton.  Much of the priory is in ruins of the roofless choir as you can see through the window.  Constructed between the 12th and 13th Centuries Lanercost has had a varied history.  Behind the altar is the Dossal, church embroidery, designed by William Morris (restored and conserved.
