Dying Rays

Went to the cinema today to watch Despicable Me 2....in 3D. We needed to get out of the village and away from the "Party in the Park".

Don't get me wrong. I am sure it would be great. The last few years have been.

But this year the charge was £10 per adult and £5 per child.

It's not like we have a choice.... we HAVE to listen to it. There is no going home for us. The park is behind our home.

The visitors to the village park on the road at the front of the house.....and because they have been drinking, will collect their cars tomorrow.

They will walk noisily past our open windows once the party is over.....it is supposed to finish at 11pm. That is when the official music stops and the bar stops serving. That is not when the party ends.

Their rubbish will litter the field beyond our gate, and if the wind picks up, float into our garden. They will pick it up tomorrow.....

And if we step one foot out of that gate...even for a moment...we will be expected to pay.

Frankly the choice of cinema was a "fait accompli".

So when we got back I thought I would take a walk to the end of the village and catch the last few dying rays of the day.

Ho hum.....

The movie was good and it SJH's first 3D. He enjoyed the movie too.
