Terracotta Figure, Winter Gardens, Glasgow

To be found in the Winter Gardens behind the People's Palace on Glasgow Green.

This is one of the original water bearers from The Doulton Fountain. The fountain, designed to commemorate Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee in 1887, has been restored and re-sited in front of the People's Palace. It is the largest terracotta fountain in the world.

In large, you can see so much detail in the deterioration of the sculpture, particularly the delicate fingers holding the water urn.
