The school run

Today the Son and I picked up Violet from school and it is our turn to have her for a sleepover.  The routine has changed and she no longer stays with us on Tuesday nights so we take turns with daughter #1 to have her Monday nights.
This view has little to offer in terms of colour and tree interest but it is taken from outside my car (yes, I have started to walk at least half way to school and back) and those looking over the railing are attracted by the sight of Mr and Mrs Mallard who were taking a swim and finding food in the little stream below.  Often this stream dries up completely but we have had so much rain that it is now flowing very nicely: see Extras
