One shot more for the honour of Down

This is Comber Square, four miles down the road.  Its main feature is the Gillespie memorial, now encased is scaffolding, in memory of Major General Sir Hugh Robert Rollo Gillespie KCB.  As far as I know it's the only official masonic statue in Ireland, when it was unveiled, 24 June 1845, fifty Masonic Lodges were present in what is believed to be the largest Masonic gathering.  Some 25,000 gathered into the square for the unveiling.   When he was dying from his wounds his last words were ... One shot shot for the honour of Down.

It will be interesting to see the work completed, I should take more photographs in Comber!
