Red jet boats

Sydney Harbour is always busy. Generally it’s a measured, purposeful busyness, orchestrated it seems by the constantly criss-crossing ferries. The Red Shark jet boats are something else again though. They promise ‘A thrilling combination of sightseeing and jet boating with spins, slides, power brake stops and fish-tails’. They hoon around among the ferries and the sail boats and there is a great deal of spray and high-pitched screaming. You may even catch a glimpse of the Opera House as you fish-tail past. And if all this isn’t enough, you can combine it with climbing the Harbour Bridge.

Call me old-fashioned but I don’t think the jet boats enhance the wonderful Harbour at all.

(Best seen large, and you can see Government House.)
