Burning Hearts

Pollarded trees can often look stark, but I wanted to keep the 'natural' part recognisable within the abstract. It was strange given I've been working harder to create abstracts that aren't recognisable as anything.

Settled for an exaggerated colour temperature and black point, which removed the detail from the trunks and gave the sky the drama. I decided that cropping more from the left would be more abstract but less evidence of the natural. As usual, any comments welcome.

Thanks to Ingeborg for a particularly challenging challenge, I'll now have a look at other peoples' interpretations.
