Day at a Time

Warkworth

It's another sunny day in Northumberland though colder than yesterday. The wind is fierce. After a disappointingly strange breakfast we set off on the coast path north to Warkworth. It's under two miles but we took ages as we were buffeted by the wind. I've visited Warkworth and its castle before. It's all very Harry Hotspur. Impressive and surrounded today by beautiful daffodils. We didn't go in this time. We'd half thought about walking in to Alnmouth, a place I like a lot. But we both feel quite tired and the wind made walking tricky. So we just retraced our step back to Amble.

We will have some silent reading and cups of tea before we set out again. We had an excellent meal last night and might well go back to the same place.
