Chateau de Foix

This is a fine castle and it's the first thing you see as you enter the town of Foix. From the town centre you walk through the medieval part of town then start walking up and it's easy to imagine how it might have looked to visiting dignitaries. The two square towers date from the 12th and 13th centuries and round tower was added in the 15th century. There's a view from the town here.

There were a lot of circular stairs to climb and after all that we felt we were probably entitled to a nice lunch down in the town square where we enjoyed seeing every one parading their toys (motorcycles, cars etc) as they like to on a Sunday. Then it was back to camp to have a snooze in the sun which has now come out very nicely.

We'll be on the road again tomorrow and not sure yet where we might end up!

Thank you all for your comments and apologies for a lack of them from me. We have free internet here but it's very slow and seems to grind to a halt in the evening.
