Saturday: Truck Stop

We had a great breakfast today at a trendy coffee shop in San Pedro.  It really is so different from Belmopan, like another world.  We find it refreshing to experience something different but interesting to consider how many tourists come here and think they are experiencing Belize.  Just as an aside, San Pedro is the same place that was referred to by Madonna in ‘La Isla Bonita’.  

We drove out to Secret Beach today which was really well signposted at every turn.  It’s a lovely beach but quite touristy with lots of beach bars with thumpy music.  We spent a few hours there and then drove back into town, stopping off at the ‘Truck Stop’ for lunch and a few drinks.  It was great, a really nice vibe.

Pool time, naps and then dinner in town.  Another excellent day with the boys. And I don’t think I want to travel any other way other than by golf cart.
