Stuff and Nonsense

Stonechat #39

First time out birding in 10 days - I've missed it.
Hubby was out meeting some old work colleagues so I took myself out to RSPB Marshside to see if I could find the Greater Scaup that has been there for a few days. It was easy to find at Fairclough's Viewpoint amongst the snoozing tufted ducks, even if it was a bit distant - very similar, but with a silvery-grey back instead of the white and black (extra).

I was also happy to find three more for my annual list - 2 Spoonbills, 2 Little Ringed Plovers and my first chiffchaff of the year. But my favourite shot of the day was this lovely obliging male stonechat catching flies from the fence line.
