Moment of calm

A big and exhausting day. In the morning I wrestled with the Heritage grant application, okay until I realised I had written far too much for each section and had to drastically par it all down. Anyway, it went off and that's that.

Then we went to Ballydehob where Robert was lying in repose in St Matthias'  church before his funeral tomorrow. We were early of course and spent half an hour just sitting in the car taking in this wonderfully serene view.  Back to the church and Himself was one of the pallbearers. Unbearably sad  to see his beautiful wicker coffin brought in and it always seems to me to be such an ordeal for the family as they sit at the front and everyone files by and shakes their hands.
We were privileged to be invited back to the house afterwards for a gathering of family and close friends, the view from the house as marvellous as ever.
