the most wonderful time of the year

rain, sun, rainbow, rain, sun, repeat :-)

I realised on my walk with Jess this afternoon that although I've been hearing the birds singing recently, I've not been listening to them. So today, when I unexpectedly heard a chiffchaff (first one of the year), my ear suddenly tuned in again. I have the Merlin app on my phone; really useful when all the warblers start to arrive, which won't be long now.

And speaking of arrivals...tomorrow will soon be here as well, bringing with it a whole host of young people and their dogs :-)
