On This Day In History
1979: Nuclear disaster at Three Mile Island

Quote Of The Day
"The nuclear industry has this amazing record, even equipment from generations one and two. But nuclear mishaps tend to come in these big events - Chernobyl, Three Mile Island and now Fukushima - so it's more visible."
(Bill Gates)

Gotta love an Aspie's ability to misapply adjectives to emotive subjects, such as referring to 60 plus people dead from cancer and 150,000 square kilometres of irradiated land as a "mishap." Doubtless Mr. Gates is correct in purely statistical terms, it doesn't really matter how many weeks or years something goes without incident when one incident is so immense. Just don't ask Keith Mandemant for his opinion on that.

On a lighter note, yesterday I purchased, on the day of its release, the Blu-Ray set of Season One of The Mandalorian. Yes, I'm very late to this party but we don't subscribe to Disney+, or indeed any satellite T.V. channels, but I long awaited its release on Blu-Ray. After watching just one episode, it was well worth the wait. The production is superb, from lighting, editing, set design, costumes, SPFX, music and the concept art used in the credits sequences and as backgrounds for the menus is breathtaking. Looking forward to the release of Season Two next month.

Now, will Disney release Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ahsoka and Thrawn on Blu-Ray? Ah, 'tis a consumation devoutly to be wished.
