Just chilling

A nice relaxed day today. Thursday walk leader B said she wasn't available today, which usually means no-one else turns up. But it was a glorious day so Ingrid, G and I agreed we would walk anyway. We waited a token five minutes on the square in case anyone else turned up (no) and then did the easy circular walk up to the lake and back, chatting all the way. Blip is the predictable view on the way down.

Back in the village we settled in Ingrid's kitchen for tea and more chat. It's so nice to just hang out, talking about nothing in particular, no pressure to be anywhere. Though one possible disadvantage of Ingrid's kitchen is that (especially if you have the window open) every passerby feels inclined to at least peer in and at most join in the conversation. Result: G and neighbour R comparing back problems and possible resolutions.

It was so warm when we were walking, but got rapidly chilly once the sun dropped behind the mountain. Back home, S has literally scraped the bottom of the barrel by lighting a fire with the remaining barrel staves, and we have had wine and nibbles. The epitome of #villagelife.
