Thursday: Blood Alley

I woke up this morning with a definite sense that beers had been consumed last night.  Ho hum - nothing that a sausage sandwich didn’t put right.

This morning we headed back into our old neighbourhood.  We even drove past our old house - we initially weren’t sure that we would but it actually didn’t feel too bad.  It felt like it would have been entirely natural to walk up the path and let ourselves in.  You’ll be pleased to know we resisted.

The neighbourhood is still lovely.  The staff in our local bookstore were as charmingly churlish as they’ve always been.  And we had lunch at the superior noodle place that used to be our weekend go-to.  This afternoon we stopped off on Kits and enjoyed a walk along West 4th (despite the rain).

This evening we met up with P&J for dinner at ‘Is It French’ in Blood Alley.  It was tapas style, mainly fish.  We had a great time - another get together that felt like we only saw them last week.  As J said, we’re each others’ people.
