a lifetime burning

Green

The wretched cold doesn't seem to want to let up, unfortunately, so I've not felt like going far.  So today's blip was taken in the back garden - a male greenfinch looking quite velociraptor-ish to my eyes.

From the blue sky behind the bird you'd think that we've had a lovely day.  To be fair, it's been a better day than yesterday but still windy with lots of heavy downpours.  You might think that it's as though the April showers have arrived early this year, but it's actually been pretty continuously wet since November.  The difference in the sogginess of the ground between here and Suffolk last week was very noticeable indeed.  Its an awful lot drier over there on the east coast.
