Rossbrin Castle

A sparkly sort of day. I drove Finola into Skibbereen to have her eyes tested, then we ate hot cross buns and she and her sister did some essential shopping before they head to Greystones on Sunday. Some of Finola's Canadian family are arriving for a week and will be staying with her there. A time of adjustment surrounded by those who love her much needed now.
I came back via the coast road, admiring the gaunt remains of Rossbrin Castle, once a stronghold of  erudition, the greatest centre of learning in Europe apparently, renowned for its extensive library (15th century)!
Himself had cut swathes of grass and everything was looking rather good in the sunshine.
