Wood Anemone ( Anemonoides nemorosa )

Clickychick wanted to take a shot for Good Friday, so we had a walk over to church.  She blipped inside the church my blip is from the churchyard.

A number of years ago a very enlightened lady persuaded the PCC to allow unused parts of the churchyard to develop into a sort of nature reserve/meadow.  These Wood Anemones are forming quite a drift under one of the trees.

The anemones are another member of the buttercup family.  The are native to Europe and widespread.  In UK they flower from March until May.
