Stuck Squirrel

When we got up this morning Izzy told me there was a dead bird stuck on top of the lamp post, on closer inspection I saw it was a squirrel. "Fair enough, he's probably having a rest" I said, silently thinking that I've never seen a resting squirrel.
Anyway, 3 hours later and he's still there, cowering.
I'm not sure what to do, it's very windy and raining....
