A day touring the village

A visit to two of a number of galleries open in the area showing local artists work. The first was to friends gallery, they are also who hosting several other artists including blipper Treshnish, and L who makes and tutors basket weaving (and also a bird feeder as blipped several days ago). A and H are great characters and hosts and always good to visit for a catch up. Their gallery looked full of interest and well displayed, a great pleasure to call in.

From here to the community orchard where that wonderful hum of voices could be heard before seen. The annual Easter Monday event was on the go which as always had great looking food, excited children and adults of all ages eating and chatting. (I had a very good bacon roll made by blipper Boomerang) A wide range discussion was to take place over the next hour or so, the weather was warm, ideal for all the hard work involved in pulling together an event like this.

A visit across the track to the tree nursery to plant a few seeds, John did that, I relaxed and on to the second gallery set in the middle of the village. You may remember years ago the wonderful bakery in the village, when the couple sold up a ceramic artist bought the cottage and turned the bakery into a workshop and gallery. I could have spent many pounds today, there was this beautiful woven scarf……

No doubt the beach was calling many as well, a good day for locals and visitors to Mull.
