Blue Jay

Sunday again and that means our stay in the RV will soon be over. It feels like we have been on holiday for ages, but I could cope with it going on longer still!

We went to the Centennial United Church in Parry Sound this morning, and enjoyed the service, although I think I was probably the only adult wearing shorts!

After that we walked along the waterfront on their 'fitness trail' but carefully avoided all the bits of apparatus that didn't involve walking! Then followed that by a late lunch in "Bistro by the Bay" (heartily recommended) before returning to the campsite to recover from our activities - well it is supposed to be a day of rest!

At one point on the walk this blue jay presented itself for a photo, and so since it posed so nicely I duly obliged. Its the first one we've seen since Owen Sound so it deserves to be famous!

This morning service was based around the parable Jesus told of the Rich Fool (Luke 12:13-21) and the minister said that the word fool (or foolish) comes from two words in the original meaning lacking understanding. This person took all his decisions on the assumption that life would go on as it was, and without a thought for others, the world around or God. It was as though he believed he was the centre of everything. So very much like the 'me culture' of today.

May I/we be preserved from falling into the trap of that 'foolish' way of life.
