Quinces

I’ve been not quite so tired today, so much so that I managed to poach more peaches in wine and spices, stew up even more peaches and poach some quinces.  It’s going to be interesting to try the quinces tomorrow.  I’m not sure quite what to expect.  There are more quinces on the tree, which I could use to make quince chutney or quince paste, or both.  Other than dealing with the fruit, I’ve not done a lot else today, which is probably a good thing.

One of the dahlia plants is dropping petals on the path and they look very pretty and the flowers on one of the hydrangea bushes are starting to fade.
