Flashback

After posting yesterday a Cooper’s Hawk flew in to capture a male goldfinch. I took a few photos through the window expecting him to immediately fly away but he remained. I opened the door, then the storm door and he was still unbothered so I took a few more. It was snowing heavily and food was scarce except under our feeders. Before long he plucked the bird from underneath his talons and disappeared into the woods • Because this photo was taken yesterday I’ve also shared a dear deer track from today. A group of six visited this morning feasting on sunflower seeds and the apples and carrots I left for them last night • Hope you’re having a great Friday and looking forward to the weekend!
