When I returned from doing some shopping, D was sitting at the table doing this drawing. It's all done with a biro, I think and then shaded with charcoal.

I've tried to be outside as much as possible before Storm Kathleen arrives this weekend with the usual fare of rain and wind. I wonder when I'll ever get to cut the grass, which is growing fast but still very wet. I have started deadheading the daffodils, though, doing 100 a day and up to 600 so far. There are still some in bud and the cool weather means the flowers will last longer. The leaves are just beginning to appear on the sycamore and horse chestnut trees. I like this time of year before everything takes off..
