Buzzing

Lots of bees buzzing around the dandelions in a sunny spot by the river in Holmfirth.

Started to do some gardening this morning, but hadn't been outside long before the rain started. In and out between showers for a while, before giving up. MrM seemed surprised that it had rained at all - apparently it hadn't where he works, all of 4 miles away.

Was expecting some plants, ordered online, to be delivered at around lunchtime, so I was keeping an ear open for them. Heard nothing, and was slightly perturbed to receive an email stating that they'd been been delivered to a "safe space" - the front porch. But they weren't there. On further investigation, I discovered that they'd been left in the open in the front garden next door, two huge boxes. (Unusually, the courier hasn't yet requested feedback!) Our neighbours were out, and the boxes were too big and heavy for me to carry back single-handed, so they had to stay there until MrM came home. He's tall enough to pass the boxes over the fence.

Into Holmfirth later in the afternoon for a little shopping. The wind was getting up by then. By the time MrM and I went for an early-evening walk along part of 'Ramsden Road', an old moorland track, it was blowing a gale. Good to get out for a while, but also good to get out of the wind!
