Ice Cream

Our niece's husband, JD, from Tasmania has been staying before setting off on a cycling trip tomorrow.
We went out for dinner at the Alex Hotel with Graham and Bec but when we tried to order dessert at 9:10pm the kitchen was closed!  Silly Saturday #1.
So we returned to Graham's place for an even better dessert of caramel macadamia ice cream in coffee liqueur :-)

We had decided to stay in Blackheath as JD is leaving on his ride early tomorrow morning.
That was fortunate as last night's rain (130mm and overflowing gauge) has caused  major undermining of the road into the Megalong Valley. No one can get in or out and all the emergency services are running around trying to organise the evacuation of 150-160 visitors and food drops etc to residents.
I think there is an element of guilt as the portion of road in question has been damaged and half closed for months without anything being done (Silly Saturday #2). They are estimating at least 12 weeks till it can be repaired. It is the only road into the valley so they are trying to organise some sort of emergency access through not very accessible private property.
See rustycrapp's blip for a picture of the damage.
Meanwhile the rain went as quickly as it came and it's been a lovely day.

Thanks for hosting SS in honour of Admirer, ApolloFly.
