Goldfinch

When I went out to top up the bird feeders this morning the wall of heat enveloped me like a warm blanket. I didn't have to wait too long for the Goldfinches to appear.

The promised Storm Kathleen didn't arrive till about lunchtime and the wind is still blowing a hoolie and taking much of the blossom from the trees.

While conditions were still fairly benign I took my bucket to my Camellia and filled it up with dead blooms before the wind scattered the petals all over the grass.
