Just settling down

I don't know if there are any eggs yet but the female has a fine nest with a good view of the Maxwell Park pond. Just as she was settling down the resident Heron flew in and landed not too far away.

Youngsters are easy targets with few hiding places. Hope that any cygnets hatched manage to survive. At least swans make better parents than Mallards.
