In the cathedral

Today was the first day of the Sheffield Photo Soc annual exhibition in the cathedral; it'll be on for just over a week.
Submissions are judged, and some receive trophies or commendations. So I was very pleased to have 4 prints accepted, and to get the trophy for best 'action/photojournalism' image (for a photo of a man working a lathe at Wortley Top Forge industrial museum). More important than this, though, is just the pleasure of getting some images off my hard drive and out for people to see and (I hope) enjoy.
It's been fun setting it up, a real team effort. This afternoon was my stewarding shift. As it's been a dry and sunny day - if also very windy - there were plenty of visitors.  The best part has been watching people share thoughts and comments as they  meander through the exhibition.
Ruth and Luca came to take a look in  mid-afternoon, and then I gave them a lift home.
The cathedral is a warm and welcoming place. There's a cafe to one side, and also a play corner for children - which Luca thoroughly enjoyed. All in all, it was lovely to spend a few hours there.
