Trip to Crathie

Dropped Phin at daycare and got organised to head to a weekend with friends who live in a gorgeous cottage between Braemar and Ballater. A late lunch in Blairgowrie and a potter around the shops in Braemar and we arrived shortly after 4. The weather was pretty wet driving up and it was only briefly dry overnight so we couldn’t see much of the stunning countryside around their house.

As it’s been a few months since we last got together the conversation flowed all evening through the cups of tea on arrival through the pre dinner drinks, mushroom soup starter and pasta with a white ragu main course and onto the after dinner drinks. More wine for us ladies and whisky for the gentlemen.

I think I retired to bed around 1!
