A little while ago, it was raining

In Ayrshire(s) today - very early for my meeting in Ayr so popped into Ayr Gaiety Theatre's cafe for a look & some lunch (also it had suddenly started pouring, again, and my wellies were in my bag - I did have to buy a slightly better raincoat in Ayr having packed a bit too hopefully for the actual weather). Very good lunch indeed. Great to see the theatre so busy with tickets being bought & impressive desserts being eaten.

Wandered along the Esplanade in the sun afterwards, admiring the views over to Arran - this is the beach, sea & shadow island - and some brave souls far away by the water. Then to South Ayrshire Council's HQ to hear about exciting things.

Staying in a rather lovely hotel in Irvine tonight - Gailes Hotel - great food, really friendly staff. Overheard two young-ish Americans rating their Scottish golf course experiences - St Andrews & Turnberry make their awesome-est courses bucket list.
