O is for the oldest pillar box…

The British Post Office installed its earliest roadside posting boxes in 1852/3; this post box is the oldest survivor still in daily use in the British Isles. It has been restored to what is believed to be the original livery of that era.
I’ve put a full colour pic as an extra so that those of you on the mainland who now have red post boxes can see what colour their post boxes were in Victorian times. All our other post boxes are blue.
