P is for Picquet House…

Unfortunately there is scaffolding all over it so I did a bit of faffing around with Brushstroke to make it look a bit more presentable.
It was built in 1819 as a guard-house and unruly soldiers stationed at Fort George would be imprisoned there but is now a travel agents and offices. And it’s a handy place to dive under and shelter from the rain.
On its side wall there is a weather station which was in use in 1940. The data sheet is a copy of the original sheet dated 19 June 1940 just days before the evacuation boats arrived from England and Guernsey was invaded by the German troops.
