Black Country

This is what 50,000 tonnes of plastic recycling looks like as it goes up in smoke. It was over at Smethwick but cast a cloud and a stink over a fair bit of the Birmingham and Black Country skyline this morning. One story is that it was set off by a Chinese lantern at around 23:30 last night.

Unfortunately some of the firefighters called to it had to be hospitalised. I hope they will be alright.
